About us

Apprentice school of motoring

in North London

Apprentice driving school instructors are experienced in planning and structuring each lesson to help you develop and progress at the optimum pace for you. We provide high standard driving lessons in Camden town, Kentish town, Finchley and nearby towns.

We use a range of different techniques to support your learning. These range from individual driving lesson plans to progress cards. You will have a clear understanding of what you set out to achieve in each driving lesson and how well you have progressed. Student progress cards are used to monitor progress, highlighting strengths and weaknesses so we can work on the areas where you need more practice and not waste time and money. You will receive support and encouragement all the way to ensure that you build confidence and develop skills easily for your drivers license .

PROVISIONAL LICENCE

We recommend applying for

a provisional licence

as soon as possible as you will need this before you start learning to drive. You will need to complete the DVLA’s D1 application form, either via their website or at your local post office.

If you’d prefer to apply online, you can do so on the Direct Gov website https://www.gov.uk/apply-first-provisional-driving-licence. You can apply for your provisional driving licence up to three months before your 17th birthday although you cannot drive on the road until you have turned 17 and you have the provisional licence in your possession.

Before applying for a driving licence make sure you:

-Are a resident of the UK
-Can meet the minimum age requirement
-Can meet the minimum eyesight requirement

The DVLA will aim to send your driving licence within ten working days of you submitting your application. In the meantime, you can of course brush up on your Highway Code and the various driving laws before taking your driving theory test.
